Help with a weird VIN - 1975 SL
I am new to the older benz world and came across a really clean 1975 450 SL.
The owner told me it was owned by the swizter family and is a rare salmon color with a black removable hard top. I was told they only made two of them. The VIN is 10704412028522 , I know it is not 17 numbers, but thats what the title and the door frame say.
Any help would be appreciated, as this car has 88k on it and is pristine..
Thx!!!

Out Of Control!!
Your in the wrong part of the world for the correct answer-------your fingers should be on the number pad and dialing MBUSA and be patient and ask for the antique MB guy!!

1974 450SL
I think I'm confused about the question....
107 is the chassis
044 is the 4.5l V8
1 is left hand drive
2 is automatic transmission
xxxxx is the 'production number'
There is no other type of information encoded in these pre-17 digit VINs.
