So, the flasher relay went bad on our 77 450SL. These earlier models have a relay that sits behind the speedo and is not incorporated with the hazard switch. I could have purchased a replacement for around $100, but being cheap I decided there had to be another alternative. I found this post on another forum. http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/in...-relay.120808/ So, I tried it and it worked. It took a while to find a flasher with the same terminal numbers as the original, but I found one at OReilly's. part # NOV EP35. It was a little over $12. This fix saved me a bunch of money and it does not alter the car.
