purchase of 350SL

i am looking to buy an early 80's 280/350 SL. i was hoping i could get some advice in terms of what to look out for when buying one in terms of potential problems, typical signs of lack of care and any parts that would be particularly expensive to restore or replace. any advice would be very appreciated

thanks

You MUST make sure it has the double row timing chain before you buy it. It needs to have been converted, as they came with a single row chain.
