I put in a starter from Auto Zone, connected the battery and it started right up. Put everything thing back together, tried to start it and the starter spins without engaging and won’t stop until I disconnect the battery. I put the 2 shims from the old starter back on when I installed the new starter. Like I said, it worked once. Thanks.

Thank you. I took the starter back out and had them test it. Turns out the starter is bad and they ordered another one.
