Power Steering Fluid

The power steering fluid in my 1976 450 SL is a little foamy and milky in appearance, not at all like the product coming out of the quart fill container and on start up and low RPM's the pump groans a little. I have heard that air in the fluid might be the culprit? How easy is it to change the fluid?

Thank you in advance,

Tony

What fluid did you put in the system? According to my owners manual (1980 450SL) these power steering systems take Dexron II ATF, not Power Steering Fluid. That may explain the odd sound. You can bleed the system by turning it lock to lock a few times, by the way.
