On my morning walk I saw an estate sale with a nice looking 1982 380SL asking $6500. Slight drizzle so I couldn't get a meaningful look at the paint, but body looked straight, and interior looked excellent. What should I look out for with this model?

I read that this engine is a bit anemic, 155HP--any comments on that issue?

Kent Bergsma at Mercedessource.com says that the V8 engines with single-row cam chains, as in this car, should have the chains replaced every 25,000 miles, and he recommends against conversion to dual-row cam chains as not worth the expense. Even with the larger engines in this series of cars, 0-60 times were maybe 8 seconds, so with this 155HP engine, the performance would be leisurely at best

I think I've answered my own question. Even if this car is perfect otherwise, it isn't for me.
