SL/R107: Location of turning signal relay? 450SL 73

Location of turning signal relay? 450SL 73
Hi, I asked this question in the mechanical forum but didn't see a lot of questions on older SLs there so thought I would ask here.
My turning signal relay was pulled by the mechanic who inspected the car and determined the relay was dead. I ordered a new part, and now want to install it myself. Unfortunately, all I know is that it is supposed to be vaguely somewhere under the dash on the driver's side. I opened the lower dash cover and spent a couple of hours looking but no luck. It surely would have been easier to find if the part was still there! Would anyone know where it supposed to be exactly?

Found it!
I finally was able to get the MB dealer to tell me where to look exactly. In case anyone else ever has to look, here is the info:
1. take off lower dash cover
2. reach up under dash in middle (steering wheel being middle). There is a ledge, you plug in the relay from the top -not from the bottom which is where I was looking for it!
My turning signlas are working perfectly now
