SL/R107: r107 300SL USA
r107 300SL USA
Hello, I am new here so I hope this message gets across.
How rare would you all say a 300SL (r107), is in the United States. I have been looking for months and I have not found one single one. There are plenty of 380 and 560 SL's, but I prefer the straight 6 engine of the 300SL model (not the 280SL though). I have seen them for sale in other countries, but never in the United States.
Am I just looking in the wrong places, or are they just a rare car (especially in the United States)?
Thank you all!!

As the old country western song said "your're looking for love in al the wrong places:. I did a quick gogle search and found 3o or so, from $12,500 to 1.2 million.
I can not remember when the 3.0 litre six got to the USA, (1993?), the 107 lasted until 1989. There are some R107 280SL Euro to USA emissions/safety conversions. Some where done well, others not. The V-8 cars have a stronger following price-wise, except for the manual gearbox sixes. Check out Bring a Trailer R107.
