I live in Ann Arbor MI and own a 1985 280SL Euro. The odometer is not working. The speedometer does work. Any know of a shop or person nearby that can fix this issue? I am sort of mechanically inclined but would pay someone who has experience and the tools and equipment necessary to do the job quickly.

This is usually the fault of a single gear in the odometer. replacing it is not hard, but is tedious. Attached is a picture of my odometer, the gear that meshed with the small pinion had lost a couple teeth. Here is a source for gears: https://www.odometergears.com/produc...07%29+81-89/48

Easy fix. Pull the instrument cluster; ship it to United Speedometer in Houston. They will repair it (even fixed my clock!) and refurbish. They replaced all gears, polished, lubricated; and refreshed needles. Cost me $325. 713.690.1230. Www.usande.com. I have no affiliation with them. Just a satisfied customer.

I have a 96 sl 500 with a digital odometer. The speedo works as does the trip odometer.

for whatever reason the regular odometer reverted to all zeros and does not move. i have checked fuses

There are YouTube videos on this topic; search R107 odometer or R107 mileometer on youtube if you want to have a go. Likely either a gear has lost teeth or a pinion gear has disintgrated. There are other resources also on the internet to help you decide what you want to do with this; this is a relatively common problem which is pretty straightforward for any specialist instruments workshop.
