1987 560SL ?

Good day, I was tasked to sell a 560SL 1987 w/ 102000 miles. Owned be a grandma and has been garages kept. Runs a little rough. Body is nice and straight.

How much do these sell for. No info on KBB. Car Gurus sells them fro 8k to 30k.

Thanks

Alex

Like with all used MB's its all about condition and historical maintenance.
Depends on how well Grandma kept the maintenance up to date, and has it been neglected or not.
Assuming good condition with 100Kmiles, typical retail is around $15L plus or minus

Running a little rough is a flag for not keeping maintenance up to date, and whatever else that can lead to.
Timing chain replaced yet? Have documentation to prove it?
How is the soft top? need replacement? Brakes & front end components? Steering pump leaking?
Anyway, there are a lot of factors, and without more details, it's value is just a guess
Lets assume it's worth $18 best case, then start subtracting for maint items, timing chain, chain guides, tensioner, tuneup, gas tank flush, etc?,
Need new tires, brakes, all fluids changed, you can easily drop $5K to $10K or more to fix "Deferred Maintenance" items...
A buyer could purchase a perfectly maintained one for $20K for example, or buy this one for $15K, and then spend another $5K to $10K to get it where it should be. Which car would you buy at those prices? These cars can be a diamond in the rough, or a huge money pit, it's all about attention to maintenance and normal care.
Get a R107 maintenance expert to do a PPI for about $200, and get an itemized list of what needs to be repaired, and how much it will cost to repair everything.
With that information, you can start making a much better estimate of selling value.
