Squeaky noise (from the belts?) when Heat/AC is turned on

Hello all,

On my 1987 560SL with 77K miles, I hear a loud squeaky noise from the engine area when I run the Heat/AC fan on any setting other than the EC (Economy). My mechanic says it is from the AC compressor or maybe the AC belt tensioner. What are your thoughts ? Thank you.
