So I bought a 1980 Mercedes 450 SLC a while back and have been doing some work on it. Currently, About the entire fuel system has been replaced/worked through (with the exception of pulling the fuel tank) however have drained old fuel, added new on top, drained that, then added more new fuel as well as jumping my battery to the pump to cycle fuel through the filter, as well as the valve cover gaskets. Now when I go to start the car and idle it using starting fluid when she builds up pressure oil starts leaking rather heavy from the left passenger side rear of the engine. With the V8 in there there's not much room to try and diagnose where the leaks coming from but from crawling under and looking at it as well as wedging a camera near the rear it appears to be coming out from somewhere below the valve covers near the exhaust manifold (although not ruling out a potential leak from the exhaust manifold itself, but that seems rather unlikely to me). I've read about a PCV Valve that is potentially back there that might be spitting oil however to my knowledge the emissions systems are towards the front of the engine
