The standard offset 25 would fit fine for either of those sizes.

The original AMG wheels had an offset of 17 for 16x7.5 rim and should also fit fine.

I had a set of BBS 16x8 wheels with a 21 mm offset when I first got my '87. Came with 235 50R16 tires. They were fine, with no rubbing ever, albeit the fit was VERY close.

More recently, I found a set of 16x8 wheels from a 2002 Sedan. Got a set of H-R Spacers (and longer bolts) to yield an effective 19mm offset. Fit is fine, but again, low profile tires keep the fit OK and the Speedo Ratio correct.

Had the wheels powder painted to match the white body and painted the bolts and centers gold. Has a really interesting (at least to me) look, but maybe not for everyone.
