battery tender/conditioner
I want to install a battery tender in our "86 560SL. I thought about hoking it to the battery in the trunk, but worry about igniting the gases from the battery charging in the confined space of the trunk. The battery does have the single vent running out through the trunk floor. Would that be enough ventilation? Or under the hood, there is a positive terminal on the passenger side fender between the radiator overflow tank and the firewall. would that be a safe place to make the connection and then ground to a body bolt? Or do I still have the danger of igniting gasses from the battery when I open the trunk and the light comes on? Any thoughts or experiences?

Battery Tender
The Battery Tender is automatic and will not over charge. '88 560 SL, plugged in all the time, trunk closed, small wire coming out is not a problem. Helps my expensive Mercedes battery last a long time.
