M117 AMG engine market?

Dear all,

I'm a Jaguar man but my R107 collecting neighbour is slowing pulling me to the dark side :-)

Surely, you are all familiar with the M117 AMG engines with DOHC and 32 valves:
Every now and then, one of these engines seems to come up for sale.

What is the market price nowadays for one of these engines?
And how many cars with these engines were built in the first place?

Thanks!

The 6.0 -32 valve motor is a rare beast indeed, I couldn’t tell you about pricing - but it wouldn’t be worth it for me to spend 10-15 grand on sticking this in a 107 when I can just fabricobble in a 6.0 L Chevy for a third of that.

sacrilege, I know. I suppose if I had a super special 107 with all the right spoilers and body kits I might do it that way but otherwise for any garden variety 107 it gets an LS.
