Clank /Drifting steering
Remove the clank and the drifting in the steering by replacing one, one PART. The steering coupler. Next post I will try and give you a detail removal and replacement procedure on that part.

Here's the procedure: 1. Place wheel chucks behind rear wheels and jack car up, preferably on the driver's side. 2. Remove driver side tire. 3. Now, under the car, locate the steering coupler and with a can of white spray paint, spray between the gap in the coupler (so that you put the coupler back on in the correct position). 4. Now, inside the car, remove the two covers under the steering wheel (leg bolster and cover w/light). 5. Remove or loosen the clamp on the steering shaft above the gas pedal and remove gas pedal. 6. Also remove the plate on the floor board that the steering shaft goes through to the outside of the car. 7. Now position the steering wheel so that you can loosen the bolt on the steering coupler. You will see it now that the cover has been removed. 8. Under the car, loosen the other bolt on the steering coupler. 9. Remove the three bolts on the steering box right inside the driver side wheel well. 10. Now pull the steering box forward to separate from the steering shaft so that the coupler comes free. 11. Now reverse the procedure to install. Remember I did this with the assistance of a friend and it took a little while and alot of patience. I hope this helps SLer's. Good luck!!!!
