Crappy dealer!
So, here I am getting kinda worried with all of this talk about only 1000 cars to the US, etc. My dealer told me I was guaranteed a spot, at msrp, for rouhgly june-july delivery (w/o AMG interference).
I just called them up an hour ago, turns out that i'm number THIRTY EIGHT! That sleazy weasel! Yeah right, like I'll ever get a car. 30 minutes of phone calls, and I'm #7 at MSRP from a dealer who does 80 MB's / month volume. He's claiming about one per month, so I should get mine within 10 months' time.
What do yo guys think? Should I keep hounding? I found some dealers with only 2 on their list, but expecting one car a year.

Is there a way to get a written contract about your position on the list?
I started at #14 then moved down to #6 today. (different dealerships)
I wonder if there's anyways to get anything official.

you could always put a deposit down on those dealers that have only 2 on there list

Well that really suck! What's the name of that dealer Dan? I guess each dealer has their own way of putting customers on their own list depending on how good or how volume of business that customer has done with that dealer.

SMythe Euro in San Jose, CA. My sales guy was still very nice, but he wasn't terribly forth-coming with the numbers.
Whatever the case is, I've got is squared away. I was impressed that I found that locally. Too good to be true, I guess. It's ok.

Well thi sis a different dealership. Feldmann importns based out of MN, who supposeldy puts about 100 benzes/month through the paces.
5/year? Man... Well, I'll have to exercise some outside influence now. Oh well, 7 is better than 38.
