SL55/63/65/R230 AMG Sl65 question

Sl65 question

I just noticed on my sl65 that the drivers side air flow grill (the one just infront of the front wheel) is sealed with a black cover behind it, the other side you can see through it and the radiator is this normal ?

Presumably, the grill only serves a purpose on one side of the car, for the other, it's only there for cosmetic effect.

Yes, this is normal. Passenger side is an additional oil cooler. Everyone thinks these vents are for the brakes but they are not.

SL65 AMG

For you curious types, below are photos of the right and left side vents. You can see the oil cooler in the right side vent. Left just has a cover.
