*also posted at (*edit, benzworld), just looking for a quick response as the car is in the shop now and I am doubtful that there will be any repair made*
Driving an SL55 over the weekend, there was an occasional squeak or chirp from the rear end. It seemed to only occur around 1750rpm, around the time of the shift into what I believe was 2nd gear. Is this normal? Does anyone have any ideas as to what might cause this noise?

That chirp is likely coming from the clutch for the supercharger when it engages. It's slipping. Do you also experience an associated hesitation/skip? I'm having the same problem and the dealer claims nothing is wrong! BS!!! E-mail me if you'd like. I'd love to hear exactly what's going on with your car.
