how many people here in the USA have had their fuel tanks replaced. my 2003 sl55 does have some fuel pump noise and my service manager does not have a tech bulletin for the replacement. is there a notice from mbusa for this repair? he will have the work done but was looking for some previous info about the upgrade. can anyone here in the US please let me know what they had to do to get the tank replaced. thanks

this is an amazing scam. mercedes benz knows about this and doesn't want a recall cause many people don't notice. i sent my car back to a dealer 100 miles away cause the noise made me crazy. this is a $120,000 car and this noise brings it down to a 20,000 feeling. make them change it and don't take no for an answer.

the service manager is a good friend of mine. i can easily work this out. i just wanted to know if anyone can provide info as to who they dealt with and what the service people had to tell mbusa to get the problem dealt with. since there is not a tech bulletin i wanted more info. thanks

my dealer was mercedes of bakersfield, ca. my salesman was surindar. they were very helpful. in fact at the time of my difficulties two years ago - the owner was experiencing the exact same thing.

my service manager talked to the mb rep and found there is knowledge of this problem that is not posted as recall. they have ordered parts and will take care of it within the next week or so. no debate needed. nice to know someone at the dealership.
