Rev limiter, a real ? this time.

Will the rev limiter kick in under hard acceleration at the end of first gear? The tires were not spinning but there was a hesitation followed by a muffled pop at the end of first gear.

Sometimes if you have not driven the car hard for a couple of days you may run into the rev limiter with a delayed shift.

This has also happend to me if you do something a bit funny like let off at a high RPM then get on it again.

It will also happen if you are shifting in manual mode and try to wait until you hit the redline before hitting the button to shift.
