Soon to be sl55 owner & some questions...

If i want to swap out the aluminum trim thats coming in my car what are my options and where would i go to do this and choose my options....I'm thinking either carbon fibre or i saw a silvery looking one with black crossmarkings thru it...

I am going to the tire rack and ordering there amg type iv wheel which says amg on it so im going to assume its the actual amg wheel that comes on the sl65 is this correct..? being that i am going to 19'' will this create any problems for me being the car came with 18s''?

also can i paint the black sat antenna they are going to put on and if so do i need to use a "special" paint?

does anyone know if i will be KICKING myself in not waiting for the 06's?

also if BEAR 55 is reading this why are u going from a sl55 to a renntech 600...i understand that a simple ecu flash will make that car a beast however what is the motivation behind that???

also i would like to hear from people that have modded there 55 for higher performance and their likes and dislikes...im thinking of doing the renntech package!!!
thanks in advance for all your responses
Jeff

I think Brabus does a CF package for the 55. I did the same wheels that you are getting and love them. The car looks great and the extra rubber improves handling.

I don't know anything about the attenna issue.

The only mod I have done aside from the wheels is an ECU mod has been great....extra hp/torque, no speed limiter. No downside.

Most tuners for Mercedes (AMG, Carlsson, Brabus, KLEEMANN, just to name a few) offer CF package to your car.

AMG offers two types of black CF: the regular one and the coarse one (which is found in the F1 safety car)

KLEEMANN offers a variety of colors of CF

Several MB's Superperformance MK III Cobra
I have the 2 piece 19" AMG wheels on my SL55; all silver not the ones with the graphite centers. The tire size that I have is 255x35x19 front and 295x30x19 rear. Ride is a little more harsh but I love the traction and handling
