What to get sl55 or sl65?? pros cons???
i drove a sl55 today for the first time and i loved the sound of the car and the acceleration was wonderful yet not mind blowing as my modded 911turbo...which is fine.....ive yet to drive a sl65 but is there ANYTHING that i WONT like about the sl65 compared to the 55? ive read that u cant launch the 65 from a standstill without braking loose the rear wheels where the 55 i drove today had NO problem launching!!.. i would love the extra hp/tq but what good is it if u cant put it down or its mostly only useful over 80-100mph.... Please fill me in on the scoop and NO hearsayers please only people that have driven both...thanks

SL65, 05' & Ford GT, 06'
I owned a Cl55 for one and one-half years and have 11,000 miles on my SL65. The CL was quick, but the SL65 is a beast. Regardless of the speed, when you put the metal to the floor you can't help but smile. If you are into comfort and power, this is the machine to own.
P.S. I also have a Ferrari 360 F1 Spider (for sale) and have owned many other fast exotics. The SL65 is the best, thus far.

F350 Diesel, CTS-V
I have had the privilege to own both. The SL55 is a great, fast car. When compared to the SL65, though, the difference is very noticeable.
To me, the SL65 is an easier car to drive. The supercharger on the SL55 was a little “high-strung” when compared to the SL65’s turbochargers. As far as acceleration and torque is concerned – the SL65 is a monster.
It was an easy decision for me to make the switch to the SL65.

The 55 will roast the tires from a standstill with trac off. In matters of performance, you can't beat the 65 and will enjoy the increase in power.
You may not like the huge drop in value of your 65 once it comes off the lot(or so i've heard), or the $180k pricetag.

SL65 AMG
I owned an SL55 before buying my '65. I miss the exhaust note from the SL55 but nothing else. The SL65 is a rocketship. I have no regrets owning the SL55 but after driving the SL65 now for a few months I would not choose to go back.
