SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: So.......Who made your Engine?
The methanol is the big pain about running the Cosworth powered Indycar....and you always have to have at least 3 friends around to help get the thing going. But it is quite a rush when everything comes together.
BiturboV12..........I'm sorry if I shook you getting on the on ramp.........but that is a great stretch. Before I delimited, I could hit the on ramp at Warner and before Eliot it would bounce of the speed limiter....theoretically of course :v
CE750.......I use that 12-24 as well, its such a good lens, but that 10.5 allows alot of creativity.
Oh well, Kevin had a lot of bad breaks starting with the 1981 Indy 500. He should have been Rookie of the Year but got screwed when they gave it to the Mexican, Garza. Stupid sentimental voting!
Hell, there were SIX other rookies that finished higher than Garza but they must have felt sorry for him.1982 wasn't much better when he broke a half shaft at the start and took out Mario and 2 others. Penske got nervous and canned him becasue of it.
Regardless, that is freaking crazy to drive that thing on the street but 0-6 in about 2 seconds is one wild ride!

I only drove it on the street a couple of times. It is set up for road courses and that's what I do with it....ovals are just a bit much for me and I rather like the skills required for road course work.

Kevin got his first ride at Indianapolis with my father-in-law's team in 1981. Haven't seen him in at least 10 years but he is a great guy.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
In fact, when i went to collect my car from AMGs headquarters in Affalterbach, after having the SL55 performance pack retrofitted,I asked to meet Walter!! And they agreed!! I just had to shake his hand and commend him on his good work.
Then they gave me an AMG dvd, which i watched later. They had a section on how the engineers assemble an engine and the guy doing the demonstration was Walter Choritz again!!!
The man is clearly a legend, and his engines should be considered the finest hand built by AMG!
