Just picked up new SL65

Any suggestions on tinting it? I notice when you open and close door, glass moves up and down. So new tiny may get jacked while drying?

Where are you located? Any tint shop that works on MB's has a solution for this. Most installers have a small block of wood that they wedge around the sensor that holds the window up while the tint sets. I have had no issues with scratching but the felt was changed out also.

I am in Dallas.

Traded in my 2000 Ferrari 360 F1, for a 2005 SL 65 with 800 miles. Guy traded it on a SLR. So far so good, it drives great. Although I with it had a little more of a "sound". Any exhaust upgrade kits?

Yes there are exhaust upgrades for your car. Infact I know that Eisenmann sells one designed for the SL65 that I can get. Give me a PM if you want it.

Congrats, awesome color combo!
Not much you can do to get a deeper note from the exhaust... Most aftermarket systems for turbocharged cars wont make them louder only flow better for more performance.

Nice photos you should check www.eisenhaus.com for an exhaust. I had the chance to hear one in person last weekend (on a SL55) and wow that exhaust is sick.

Bradshaw, My SL65 is in Dallas, too. I'm keeping it at my parent’s home while our place in Austin is being refurbished / renovated. Too many times I caught the workers being a little too careless around my garage.

Anyway, welcome. Nice 65 you have there.

I had the windows on my SL55 tinted. The installer locked out the switch that makes the windows retract when the door is opened. I have not had any type of problem with the tint moving.

Installer can do the things mentioned. Or the easy way is to put some duct tape over the sensor.

All of the AMG owners who live in the DFW area should get together and talk MBs. I live in Arlington so let's try to get together sometime.

2005 E55
2003 Clk 500
2002 Corvette ZO6

2006 CLS55 on order from Park Place(Mid-Cities) should arrive in Oct/Nov

Had the windows tinted today. Used the place recommended by the local benz dealer. Had them redo one of the side windows, as it was not perfect. Overall they did a great job. Just can roll em down for a few days.

Have not had a chance to drive the car too much yet. But from the 100 miles I have put on it, amazed with the speed/smoothness/comfort.

Not quite true lorinserbenz, the aftermarket system is definitely louder. The turbos keep that at a certain level, you are right, but it definitely gets noticably louder. There is a guy here that has a 65 with Eisenhaus... he says the car sounds like an exotic.
