Front end noise still there after first fix try

Control arm bushings replaced but did not correct. Tech has orderd steering rack and front struts. Their plan is to change the rack and if that doesn't work then change the struts. MB is telling my dealer they think there is a heat related problem causing this popping noise but they don't know cause. I only hear this when temps go above 85 degrees and car gets to operating temp. Is anyone in the hotter areas having problems? You notice noise driving straight at very low,low speed on not so smooth payment. Turning front wheels going foward or reverse very slow. I'm not happy about just replacing parts until/if they find the problem.

You're right...

it's not totally fixed. I agree that it's only during very hot weather that the noise is noticeable. The past few days we have been in the 90s here in NJ and the noise is there. I've just ignored it because I am tired of going back to the dealer to have it fixed.

Front end noise still there after 2nd fix try

Changed the steering rack today. No change. Popping noise still there. Next step, struts. One was back ordered. Don't know when it will arrive.
Not sure where this is going, but it's not looking good at this point. Car was in for the one year service,8500 miles, when this problem was mentioned late June.

My problem was fixed when struts were replaced.

I have an 03 SL55 with 20,000 miles and had similar noises at low speed when turning. My local MB service dept told me that there was a buletin addressing this problem. They have 'Removed / cleaned both front diagonal struts to get rid of creaking / cracking noise when turning steering wheel at low speeds' - problem solved -$82.80
