Cool

Personally, the SL65 was attractive to my wife because of the convertible hard top. The performance and having a fairly rare car with one of the strongest street legal engines in the world was the second reason. Most people aren't shopping between the SL/S/ and CL. It's either a sedan S/CL, or a roadster SL.
If MB decides to make a CLS65 I will be first in line, because I can personally do without a concertible, and I love the look of the CLS.

Agreed. Not only are most people NOT shopping between the SL/CL/S, most people are just not concerned about top end performance.

Regarding MBUSA under-rating their cars under the premise of marketing... that's a urban myth. Giving a leg up to Audi or BMW by understating HP is simply bad business... I'd also bet it's illegal.

They do underrate their cars, especially their turbos.

How else in the world would a S600 and S55 have the exact same hp figures?

It's supposed to be like a choice, between luxury or sport.

And I don't think it's illegal to 'underrate' your cars, but to overrate, yeah I'm sure it is.

Anyways, they should all switch to SAE NET sometime soon.
