performance ecu upgrade

I know many have done this and I am wondering is their anything that one company does with the ECU flash that another company can't do or doesn't do the same? Why would an ECU flash cost thousands from Renntech and 550.00 from Speed tuning that I know some others have used? I don't know anything about the process but I would assume their are a certain number of numbers on the ECU representing shift points, speed limits and fuel consumption etc. and they are just adjusted with a laptop by the tuner. Wouldn't they all do the same thing?

Thanks,

I wonder how much R&D goes into a product that costs $550.00?? They certainly can't deveolp there own software for that price.

I thought the same thing. But I also thought $3K+ for some ECU flash from Brabus or Renntech was outrageous. I went with Speedtuning and it has been worth it and brilliant, and most of all flawless.

I'm going to use the Speedtuning ECU on my SL55 since it worked so well on My Cayenne Turbo. Also, Speedtuning recommends the overpriced Renntech Pulley but I'm going to use the one from ASP for a few hundred bucks that the guys in my area are using on their C32's and flying with.

I don't know how much HP I picked up with the Cayenne but that beotch FLIES! I used to make like 8.5 psi boost and now it's like 15 to 16 psi! Beatin' the hell outta mustangs, S2000's and other **** like that... We line em up, they spin their tires and they're done! That Cayenne Turbo with AWD leaves 'em for dead!
