Question Acetone to improve fuel consumption and performance?

Hi people,

Perhaps anyone here can help me out. On the local TV there was an item about adding between 0.10% and 0.20% of acetone to your fuel (diesel or gasoline) to improve gas milage, and engine performance. One of the downsides would be that acetone dissolves plastics and/or rubbers. But upto now nobody seems to be able to scientifically affirm or deny both the positive and negative effects.

Acetone supposedly would decrease the surface tension of the liquid fuel making for better dispersion and combustion in the combustion chamber.

Milage saving could range from 15% to 25%

Anyone here have experience with the subject?

You drive an SL55/65 and you're concerned about fuel economy?
