Floor Mat Mind Blower
The carpets in my SL65 Designo were looking a little worn so I thought I'd treat myself to a new set this Christmas. Hold onto your exhaust pipes....the retail cost from my local dealer was approximately 1000 big ones. My carpets are starting to look much better

I have a brand new set of Charcoal Designo mats under my SL55 mats. Designo mats are trimmed with leather, have floor snaps to fix them in place. SL55 mats were on top of them, plain trimming with foam back. The car came that way.

Take the car in for service
Take the car in for service, take a greasy shoe with you when you pick up the car and put greasy prints on your mats. Call the service advisor out and tell him it is unacceptable and you want new mats.

You don't even need to do this. Knowing how most dealers are, it'll happen eventually anyway. I got a hand print on the roof of my 1989 420SEL at FJ Newport Beach. I should'a asked for a new roof!
