I just wanted everybody here to know that the SL facelift is now available at the german MB website. In my opinion the new AMG front looks very "busy" in a very good way.

Here goes:

If you want to see the new SL65 AMG styling, click on Konfigurator and pick the SL65. I think the new front look awesome.

I don't see much difference, either, but I think it is very nice. Wonder if they will come in white?

Well, as expected no SL63, and I think we can safely say we are halfway the current SL model-lifespan (taking history into account). 5 to 6 years more to go guys!

As expected... EXACTLY! Too much odd speculation of late when it comes to the engines.

The SL has been out since 2001 here (Europe).

New wheels SL55:

18" (14 spokes)

19" (nice!)

we're talking about model year.. in europe it was 2002 model year.. to current, 2006.. if you want to count it like that, then the sl in europe previous generation came out in 1989 correct? so that was around for 14 years, and the current 5 years, right?

Looks good from the front...but from the side it seems that you cant see mesh like on the current sports package...the new rear lights will look good as well.

Looks like I can keep my SL for a few more years!

I believe the R129 lasted 12 years, but I'm not sure about that. This one now 5, I give it 10 to 12 years. But the longer it lasts the better. It is a classic already anyway, more so than the R129 in its time IMO.

I was under the impression that the 2009 model would be new... I think MB realizes that their is a positive sales advantage to updating their lines in shorter intervals now.

1/4 panel cut outs for 07 SL65
Looks like the front 1/4 panels has a cut out now compared to the previous version for the SL65.

for US models, we will get to pick from 3 packages. mb is trying to so something similiar to the 07 s-class packages. so you know the sl550 is 382 hp. the sl55 and sl600 will jump up to 510 hp with the same torque rating. the sl65 is going to have the same power rating as last years. for some reason, sl550 and sl55 don't sound too cool together.
