I'm curious to know if anyone has tried the European Delivery Program. My wife wants a new car that will require a special order, so I figure it might just be a great time to go to Germany.

They offer a 7% discount on the car plus meals and hotel accomodations (from 1 to 5 nights depending on the package you choose) with up to 14 days of Europasses and insurance coverage. After a factory tour and lunch with the team that built your car they deliver your vehicle, hand you the keys and off you go to explore the countryside and drive the back hills into the Alps.

You can travel anywhere within the EU and then drop off the car after your fun at any one of 16 or so drop-off facilities. It's then shipped back home to a dealer of your choice.

Worth doing? What was your experience?

I'm sure its a blast. You didnt mention which car, but I know the discount doesn't apply to AMG vehicles (this being the SL/R230 AMG forum)

Try it -- you'll love it!
Only downside is the wait after you get back for your car to get back too....
