SL65 for $125K

I have been seeing threads that have state that SL65's can be had for $125K or less. I have not seen any of these cars advertised? Is this a realistic price at this time? If so does anybody know one that is being offered at that price? Also any ideas on where the car should stabalize? Why has it come down so much? It sem that new SL55 are still above $105K that seem like a very small spread even new to used?

AMG SL 55
More like 150 for used SL65s and 90-80ish for high mile 03 04 SL55.

Between $150K and $165K USD I think that you'll find many.

Below $150K is going to have some miles on it, I think....

Brand-new loaded 65's started with an asking price of over $175K, brand-new loaded 55's started with an asking price of over $125K....

That was a $50K difference. You won't see that difference on used or 'pre-owned' ones however!

North East coast cars scare me... If I'm buying used it would have to be from a fair weather state. Arizona, California, Florida, etc.

Thanks for the feedback guys

It seems that there are not to many cars available for that price range. I think that 28K miles in the east coast would warrant and lower price probably 20K hit for the mileage. Has any one seen any for sale in the mid 130's. Any thoughts on where this car will stabilize over the next few years. Obviously depends on the next model year power style changes etc but any analogies or thoughts welcome.

............My observation has been that in late 2005, there were quite a fewSL65's that offered for below $130K on ebay. It looks like in the last few weeks, following the annoncement of the face lift, the SL65's seem to have regained some of their lost value. First, the face lift is subtle and the new SL65 has same engine with no increase in HP. The Cl65's on the other hand have continued their steady decline in value, partly on account of the fact that the current CL will be completely re-designed.

I bought one in late 05 and tracked the market hard for a month before buying. There were very few that were reserve met in the 130's (like 2) and I have no idea what the history of them were and they were fairly recent.Deals can be found if you do your homework but like anything else, you need to get the car checked out. I think there are a few issues with the 65 on the used market number one being the fact that most people buying a 135+ used SL probably can spring for a highly discounted new one. Next issue is that some of these cars may have been 15k more than another due to options which doesn't make every 135k used 65 equal although some may not care about any options but I for one would not spend that kind of money and not get things like keyless go. It seems the "gotta have the newest " people have probably bailed out by now and with the news of little change it has started to level off.

2006 SL65
I am going to puke... I paid more

Isn’t there a sweet spot for minimizing the depreciation hit when making double or triple payments each month?

Assumes no interest for the sake of brevity (My loan products involve beefy Italian guys) .
• $100,000 Bank Car Loan
• Nothing down
• $2000 monthly payments
• $6000/month
• 10 months = Equity $60,000
• Loan Balance = $40,000
• Car has 5000 miles and can retail for $75,000
• Sell and in pocket = $35,000

What was the purchase price for your car? Or if it was a lease what is the residual?
