Good morning,
Somehow I talked Frank into taking me to lunch yesterday.
He "just" happened to have a press car available. SL55 AMG.
AAWWWWWWWWWWWow!
If you ever have a chance to drive one, do!
It is the most amazing car I have ever driven. Approx 490 HP
and so much torque, well, it felt just like a '67 427 Vette.
NO......it was faster.
I drove the regular SL500 some time ago and it was a big
Yawn! Boring! Not interesting in the least.
This thing is as nice or perhaps even nicer than a Porsche Turbo
of which I've driven a few including a Ruff twin-turbo. This was
more fun.
I think it's the best car they have built todate. What a rocket.
Yet, you can put it in D and leave it alone. Once you start playing
with the F1 steering wheel paddles you get in deep trouble, real
fast. Handling, brakes, everything just perfect.
thank you Frank.

Sounds sketchy if you asked me - he doesn't actually say anything.

I can tell you Frank is Frank Barrett of MBCA and it would not suprise me that he has a SL55 for Testing for the MBCA Star Magizine article.
