SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: low oil warning?

low oil warning?
got a low oil warning while driving yesterday in my sl 65
it currently has 2800 miles
got home and let it sit for five minutes and checked it via the steering wheel, it says to add one quart of oil
should i add a whole quart or a quarter quart, and recheck, and repeat if necessary?
the problem is i dont feel like taking it in to the dealer for such a simple task, the problem is i dont know what grade of oil and brand it is filled with at the moment
it should still be the original oil that came with the car since the first oil change isnt required till 10k miles

Chances are, it is filled with whatever the factory uses. Did you buy the car new? Just ask the dealer what oil to use... (and the grade of oil is probobly in your manual, like all other cars...

yes i bought the car new and it should be whatever the factory put in
the problem is that the manual states many different brands and weights of oil that work, i just dont know what is in it
i guess ill make a call to the dealer...
