SL600 or SL65 throttle pedal failure

Has anyone experienced the throttle pedal going bad? If so what are the characteristic symptoms?

Is there a computer generated lag on full throttle low speed starts?

Anyone ever experience the maunual transmission going from 2nd to 4th?

A friends car seems to have some of these problems and I was hoping for some feedback to see if anyone ever heard of it.

I had a problem with the car dying and going into limp home mode under heavy acceleration at certain times, such as the car being cold. I should add my car is a SL55 not a 65 or 600. The dealer thought it might be the water pump sensor as they had seen that before; not the water pump itself, but the sensor. It turned out to be the accelerator pedal sensor and that is what the computer code showed. Mike at Mercedes of Ann Arbor fixed the problem for me. Hope this helps.

Considering that full throttle is no more potent than progressive throttle I dont understand why so many people with the SL65 think that standing on the throttle will allow them to reach Earth orbit.

I wish there was a form of English dinstead of a faulty code

I even heard of someone breaking a half shaft doing exactly that.
