Spare tire for SL55????
Does anyone know if a front size AMG wheel will fit in the boot well(trunk well) as a spare tire?
I talked to DaimlerChrysler on this and they said you can only get a spare tire if you have the 17inch rims which means SL500 or the upcoming SL350. They did however mention that they are working on one for the vehicles with AMG rims which obviously includes the SL55.
So in the meantime what do you guys plan to do?

I think it will take up too much space by the time you add the jack and wrench and all that. I'm going to be happy with the sealant and the air pump and if I have a failure which it can't handle, I'll just have to have to car towed in and pray whoever gets to change the tire has the equipment to do it without wrecking the rim.
It might also be worth keeping a spare at home so that if you're within striking distance, you can get your own MSO domestic recovery service to turn out on a rainy night to render assistance... that's what she's there for, isn't it?

Don't forget MB RoadSide Assistance is also available when you are too far from home...I wonder how it works when you don't have a spare with you???...MB should provide one!

those inflater kits would not have worked witht he flat I got on my CLK55 last year...some piece of metal punched a hole right throught the rim of my HRE's at 80 MPH...car handled like dream...I got off at the next exit to look at the tire...before I realised that it had blown out!
