SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: RENNtech Euro SL55K Sighting

RENNtech Euro SL55K Sighting
This is a bit unfair as a sighting goes, but we've had this car at our shop today on it's voyage back to Florida for DOT compliance.
It's the RENNtech from this month's Car & Driver super tuner shootout. You can read all about it on the newstand. This is definitely the ticket if you're already into the R230 SL500 and wish you'd gone for the SL55. It's basically a retrofit of the AMG upgrade plus some. Over 200 AMG parts involved.

No, retrofitting equivalent components is always much more expensive than buying out of the factory. Similar to building a car by buying the parts rather than an assembled one. I'm not sure RENNtech has put a price tag on this upgrade package yet, but I'll be surprised if a SL55 upgrade for a SL500 is less than $40k.
In the case of this car, however, it's putting out a lot more power than a stock SL55 as well.
