Question Keyless Go, Hi-Jack feature?

I was wondering if you're driving such an expensive car with the roof down and someone hi-jack the car and push you out of the car and sped away (you have the keyless go transponder on you) My question is will the car shut down after few feet when it's out of the range? It will be a great feature.

Anybody tried starting the car and walk away from the car with the keyless go thing in your pocket, what will happend? Will the engine still be running?

I'd be surprised if the engine did stop. Just imaging the product liability issues if the keyless go card battery failed just as you were starting to overtake something. However, once the hijacker has stopped the engine, he'd find it quite difficult to restart it.

In the instruction manual, there's a procedure for stopping the engine by removing some fuses. It would be quite possible to have a box which effectively did the same and stopped the engine a couple of minutes after the driver pressed a "panic" button in the car.

I have a prototype working and intend to fit this when I get my car. So if the worst happened, all you'd have to do is to have the presence of mind to press the button. The hijacker would be able to drive away, but not for long

Worth remembering too the doors lock automatically when you drive off.

The keyless go operates in a way that prevents accidental engine shut down as you are driving. Your thief would therefore speed away with the car but will not be able to restart the engine once he turns it off
