04 SL55 alarm goes off

Helpful people,

After just fixing the air pump on my 04 SL55 (fomula one safety spec)
it has has now developed a problem with the alarm, (real sad to have such problems with only 15k miles on the clock).

I don't beleive my alarm includes movement detection so I think it's only monitoring door openings etc.

As soon as I lock the car, after the 30 sec arming period the alarm goes off.

Anybody has had this problem before?

Cheers

I am having the same problem

Last night I thought I heard my alarm chirping. Then right as I laid down to sleep the alarm goes off. I had to get in the car and insert the key to get it to stop. At first I thought someone was trying to get in the car until I tried to lay down again and it went off. I was determined to get some sleep so I disconnected the battery, The whole time I was trying to get the battery cable loose the thing would chirp and sound off.

I am at a loss on what to do. I have an '01 C320. Can anybody tell me how to disable the alarm system?

Could it be the panic button on your key? I accidentaly hit mine once and didn't know what happened, but finally figured it out. Maybe something is stuck in the key.

Your alarm does have a motion sensor built into the unit, it can be deactivated with an SDS. It sound like you have a bad position sensor in one of the locks triggering the alarm.
SDS can will tell you which was the last signal source to trigger the siren and then you can perform diagnosis from there.
Good luck.
My shop is in LA if you need help.
