2-Spoke 19" Wheels No Longer Optional in 2007 SL55 AMG

Hello idrivatitleist. I'm finalizing my order today for a 2007 SL55 AMG and the dealer told me that they don't offer the 2-spoke wheels like yours as an option anymore (unless you get the 030 PP package). If I still choose to order the wheels like yours, they would get them on the car but I have to pay extra $6k. So I was advised to just get the car with the standard 5-spoke wheels then just get the wheels like yours aftermarket.

Do you still plan on switching yours? If so, are you selling the original ones you have and how much are you asking for them?

Thanks,
bari

Sorry for the late response.

I bought aftermarket rims and had my rims sold.

The aftermarket rims will not fit this car because of the new '07 TPMS sensor. So the stock rims are back on.

IF I can find rims that I like and will work I will be selling these rims. Just don't know when.

I think those wheels look just fine. Have you stretched it's legs yet? How about the RENNtech mods. Do you think there is much difference over a stock 55?

Stretched her out a couple of days ago...

75 to 150 before I could peel my head off the headrest.

The car is operating flawlessly. A definite advantage over a stock 55.

So, you moved from St. George to Henderson? I guess either place has some magnificent roads to feed the adrenaline monster. I am thinking about traveling through that part of the country in October. Maybe our paths will cross.

OK, I will get in touch before I leave if I can manage to take the trip. Not sure right now, but I am planning on going. I will travel the week of Columbus Day holiday and the weekends on each end.

Do you have a picture of the car with the top up, through the pano roof?? Also, this may seem like a dumb question but I have never been in a SL with pano, is there a 'screen' that slides closed if you don't want the sunshine?

There is a screen that slides out to stop a good amount of sunlight (when unwanted)...cant complain about the pano roof...id never buy an SL without it...it gives an open feeling to the car (with the top up) and it helps make the plain roof more interesting from both inside and out

Agreed, I feel too closed-in in cars without sunroofs/moonroofs.

04 SL55 (sold),05 SL55, 09 SL63, 07 C2S cab Porsche,
Who did you buy the car from?

I had to go to Palm Springs to get mine. FJNV tried to give me the runaround. Also, are you interested in selling your wheels when you get your new ones?

George

Thnx... I agree I love sunroofs, and panoroofs all the more. One more question, the screen is it perforated or does it block the sun 100%?

FJNV=SUCKS

I have been buying from Mercedes Benz of Lindon (Provo utah - ask for jeremy)

For now I plan on keeping the wheels.... actually it looks like I might be mounting a set on drag radials on the rear wheels....for the drag strip.
