Likes and dislikes ; personal opinion
This is my personal opinion .
1. multi spoke wheel -easily become dirty( I recommend
5 spoke wheel)
2. diamond silver color -when dirty , still it looks clean
3. electric folding mirrors- folding angle is not enough.
4. automatic rain sensor -not so sensitive.
5. speed and power -fully satisfied.
6. bose sound - good but need more spl for rock mania
7. distronic -only operating more than 40km/h . I expected
to use on busy road ...foolish...useless for me and rush hour
8. parktronic- I thought when back , sound signal only. (no!
there is led on back! I could not see it because room mirror
angle was high. )
9. ash tray -too small for me.
10. windblocker -I thought not transparent( only partly true!
the double mesh nets can be seperated !
so you can see the back)
11. tire pressure digital gauge -good
12. front panel -at daytime , it looks cheap as it shows
signals faintly.
13. massage function of seats -for Orientals , it is not a massage,
but erotic-touch.
14. air conditioning - good , but feel weaker than S600
15. keyless go -good. (don't put the card in back pocket of
your trousers.)
16. manual gear change -satisfied
17. bi-xenon lights - good. high beam is excellent .
18. multi function steering wheel buttons - good, but took time
to be accustomed
19. cd select - not with steering wheel buttons. To change cd in
the box, command button(0 to 6) should be pushed. Songs
of a cd can be selected by steering wheel buttons.
20. cup holder- good itself. But starbucks small cup will hide
command screen.
21. hight control -good.( when parking , higher position is safe
as we have low step of pedestrian road . )
22. radio reception - good
23. multi screen dash board -good but took time to be
accustomed
24. climatic -good.
25. muti function seats -good. but seat air conditioning is not
so strong.
26. my driving habit -become bad and wild( no more gentle )
27. tire puncture equipment -is this reliable?
28. spare tire -option I did not selected
29. easy pack function with top down- good
30. trunk space -of course, small
31. garage door remote controller - not yet tried( 3 door
control . you may need this option).
32. telephone- will be replaced from nokia ( useless here)
to motorola next week. not yet trid.
33. linguatronic- option I did not select. but will try install
it next week.
34. 19 inch new AMG double spoke wheel - I am checking now.

So you are back from your trip! I was beginning to miss your philosophical new age meditative dwellings on the car!

One more point, Nightsea. Because your point Number 10 is right, your point Number 8 is wrong!!!!
The wind blocker not only blocks the wind, but also diguises the rear parktronic LED's. If you remove it, or if you look closelly, you will see that it behaves exactly like the front.!!!

When you open the trunk, there is a cover.
Always this cover should be in correct position.
Unless, the top can not be opened.
When you open the top but , the cover position is not correct ,
the multi screen shows the wrong position.
The red push button (right below ) is for easy-pack for storing
cargo when the top is stored in the trunk.

When you remove the tire repair equipment,
you will see....
( dark grey tool holder at the center as well as tire repair eqipment holder is not made with hard material.
it can be broken though not easily , I think)

Overall opinion:
It is the best sports car in the world, because:
1) it out accelerates everything (including Ferrari Maranello, Porsche GT2, and Lamborghini Murcielago)
2) It can be as comfortable as a limousine
3) Stunning design
4) lots of technology, the most technologically advanced car in the world, yet easy to learn (forget iDrive, BMW!)
Little improvements:
1) white background color of dashboard is difficult to read and looks cheap
2) sandpapered opaque finishing of dashboard aluminium, seems to be made by a Rumanian subcontractor for Russian built Fiats that in the seventies were being shipped to North Korea.
3) too narrow choice of interiors
Bundling these points together, they should have left the same choice of interiors as the standard SL 500, with may be the addition of some AMG plaques inside.

you can see red signal of parking brake with other obscure
signals( ex; two triangles at the center), which , I think , should be hidden totally.

the screen has two meshes. not transparant.
you may see back faintly . But for me, I became nervous.
( After posting this , Davidegai taught me the meshes
can be seperated easily. I did not know it. I tried seperation
and he is right. You can see the back! So don't be disapointed.

make it stand alone so you get a seperated mesh screen.
Sorry no picture. I will take picture tomorrow.
BTW, I don't know the wind protect difference between double
mesh and single mesh.)

Nightsea, did you try rolling down the roll bar and snapping the wind blocker open. In this case it will be only one mesh, and will allow you to see behind and the rear parking LEDs as well. If you want I can take a picture of my SL 500, which will be gone on tuesday, and show you!
