This is a great difference for me and believe me in normal use (and for a ML the normal use is egual a total use) You don't need 347 HP but probably 560 NM.
I'm agree with You about the "MB effort about ML", but BMW X5 engine is not at the same level of MB one (especially in diesel were You can't compare X5 3.0 D with my ML), nothing to say about style, but this is personal opinion.
I stop my Porsche adventure with the 996 turbo and I don't like (in picture view) the new Cayenne (especially rear view, IMO quite similar to a wash-machine).
The new Range Rover is impressive in appearance but they have a lot of problem especially with the electronic suspension (my dealer has 4 car "sitting down" waiting for a solution).
Probably I forgot writing in my previous post that I've choose ML for the engine first (after having tested a S400cdi) and then for the use that I do with this car (It's impossible moving in 3 in a SL).
Please remind that I've change 6 cars in the last 18 month (S8 - 996 turbo - RS4 - Rav 4 - ML400 - SL55) if my wife discover that I'm interested in Cayenne or X5 I'm dead
Bye

Well, If I move to Italy or Chile in addition of my C32 will get a SUV and my target is the ML270 or ML400 preferently. Further, the guys of H&S they chiped my old C43 and now C32, thus I am looking further to chip my future ML too with:
ML270 (197 PS and 468 Nm):

ML400 (292 PS and 624 Nm!!!):

Arrivederci

Hi Pierre,
I've already upgrade my ML400 (the second cause my first ML400 take in November 2001 dosn't fit bi-xenon light) and now I've 290 CV with 640 NM and a top speed of 247 km/h (tested).
Fantastic car.
Now me and my tuner (http://www.romeoferraris.it/) we are working on SL55 to obtain more HP and speed taking some supercharger (stock kompressor) and save money cause some tuner ask more than 20/25.000 for 100 cv and this is enough for one who live's near Monza circuit but usually don't drive in Monza circuit.
Bye

MKB kit is expensive and impressive too, but is as $20,000 as you mentioned.

You may go just chip and filters to go low-priced and nice outcome.
http://www.hs-elektronik.com/datenbl...0ps-700nm.html
*The filter is not ready jet.
And here at the U.S. Renntech, AMG technical developer that move to here.

I hope it helps, and by the way awesome outcome with the ML400!!!

Many thanks Pierre,
I've already contact the tuner You show me but in my mind I prefer not a hard tuning (as Kleemann, Brabus or Mkb) but a soft tuning (similar of hs-electronik).
I prefer work with a "near tuning" so I can "go back" when I want.
Finally I don't pay anything to my tuner cause we're firend, I'm the consultant of the company and he "use" my car for test.
I give all the details to the forum asap
