Oil, oil, go away
They used to say you could tell the Jaguar owner by the oil in his driveway. I hope the new version of the old saw won’t be about us SL drivers.
Two weeks ago, I found oil in the garage under my SL55. This was the second time in the 2+ years I’ve owned the car. The first time it was ATF, and the culprit was a seal in the transmission where the wires for the electronics enter it. It was fixed under warranty, and I went on about my business.
This time it was a bad ABC strut, which was also, after a week, fixed under warranty.
That’s strike two. I’m hoping there’s not a third oily incident.
