has anyone seen the sl55 in aegean blue or orion blue? need to finalize my color choice on a production date car for november. what about the firemist red? very grateful for any thoughts.

Orion Blue (called Jasper Blue in UK) is very rare here on SL. Saw first one last weekend and fell in love instantly. I think this colour looks far better on the SL than on say the C class or even CLK.

Its my chosen colour for my SL with alpaca grey exclusive nappa leather.

I have tansanite blue, which I beleive is US Aegean blue. I found jasper (your orion) very nice, but I thought it would date - whereas the darker blue never would.
Interestingly the first SL I saw was Aegean (at the launch)

Let me say that I am very pleased with my choice - it looks great.

When you said Firemist Red, does that mean Magma Red?
Well if it is, then you would be the first one to mention this color in this forum. Don't get me wrong, I like that color. I even ordered mine with that color. I saw it on SL500 with Berry Red interior... Looked GREAT!!
It would look something like this.....

Firemist and Magma Red are two different colors. Firemist is deeper metalic red. That's Firemist in your pic off MB website.

The red SL 55 belongs to MBUSA West and is a press car. I did not really care for the red, nor for the AMG wheels - think the turbine wheels are so much better looking - they actually look much better in person than on pictures.
The sound, however, is perfect, at least when driving hard.....

Actually, tansanite blue = capri blue. It seems to have a purplish hue in bright sun. Aegean blue is completely different. I do not like orion because it does not have elegance. I've seen it on many C230 kompressors.

BTW everyone, my friend has the SL500 in firemist red. It is darker than magma and I prefer it. It is not quite like bordeaux red on other MB models. He sent my a pic of it before I went to see it, so I will post that here when I go to work tomorrow morning.
