SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: "Electric consumer offline" message

"Electric consumer offline" message
I have an '03 SL55 and the message "electric consumer offline" popped up in the tach message center and a battery symbol popped up in the speedometer
message center. Is this telling me that my battery is going bad? Thanks

Better charge up your trunk batteries! Or else, you may not even get inside your car! SL55s have two batteries, one for the gadgetry and the other to start the car. Most of the luxury features are supplied by the trunk battery. All you have to do is re-charge your batteries and eventually use a trickle charger for prolonged storage. I guess its the price you pay for wanting all the goodies that come with the car
