E55 owner looking to move to the SL65

Just curious what SL 65 owners say the difference between the two cars is like. I have my own thoughts but wanted to ask someone who has spent some real time behind the wheel of the 65.

This was his first response to it...

Considering my e55 was a k2 it almost felt faster then the sl65 but the sl65 is just quiet and smooth power that only stops when you release the gas. I didnt have time to really get on it as it was raining and I just wanted to get the car home. Well I am going to try and get it to the track tomm or next friday depending on work and we will know for sure how much faster it is. After that it is off to Cory for some more power.

SL65, E55T, Pending S65
You just can't compare the two vehicles. I had a CLS55 and an E55 wagon at the same time when I bought my first SL65.

Every time I would go back to one of the others they feel VERY slow.

The power delivery of the 65 is just incredible.......

Only thing I miss is the sound but the performance more than makes up for it!

I sold BiturboAMG his SL65.

I delivered it to NM and drove his E55 K2 back, I had a good chance to get a feel for both cars.

Think of both cars as "hammers".

E55 is lighter, a bit cruder one. In a raw, snarling kind of way. It requires your full attention under WOT.

SL65 is more like a bigger, velvet wrapped hammer. You almost sip coffee and listen to stock reports as the car just blows by other cars at what can only be described as "warp speed".

I think for most AMG owners it a natural progression.

Vadim or anybody in the know...what about a comparison between a CL65 vs. SL65? I've always like the CL body style, but I love the idea of the SL's hardtop to convertible transformation.

And I agree that any AMG55 owner next step up sans modding the 55 is the biturbo V12...man that just sounds sexy as hell.
