hi guys, can some one explain to me why my car in 4th gear with full throttle will not go in fifth and when it does there is a sudden power loss, have taken it to mercedes dealers a few times but they cant figure the problem out and they are not willing to drive the car above 70mph, cause its illegal. When they put it on the machine there are fault recalled up, sumone has suggested it might be the super charge pump? Any advice (need to get it fixed so i can show an Audi RS6 owner than an 55 is faster lol!!)

Some SL55's are restricted to 155 at the Factory............yours could be one.

you need to get the ecu flashed by someone to undo the limiter as part of the ecu upgrade. speedtuningusa.com has base in europe.

this could be the intercooler pump if you are having the transmission stick on fourth and you have a sudden loss of power it is definetly the intercooler pump i had the same problem on a 2004 sl55 and mercedes couldnt figure it out
usually it will do it at high speed but you can also duplicate the problem by driving the car hard for a few minutes enough to heat up the supercharger and when it gets hot enough it will shut down because your pump is broken that is your problem 90%
