I found the SL55 car I want to buy. Does anyone know of a reputable place that can do a third-party inspection since the car is half-way across the country?

It would probably help if you posted the cars location.

Good point.....location is Phoenix. If there is a forum member living there who wouldn't mind checking out the car for me I would appreciate it (just PM me). Or if anyone knows a reputable inspector, please share. Thanks.

When I was searching for a car, I purchased a one month car fax merbership. They sent me a link for an inspector. I was looking at one in Chicago, I put in an order for an inspector to inspect that one. Within two days he was there, he sent me a report within 24 hours with pics. The car had been in an accident. I then looked at one in Texas and sent an inspector there. Same scenario, but this one was not in an accident, and was real clean. There was a small ding in the corner, the dealer had it popped out. The inspector even pointed out a small blemish in the paint on the hood, it ended up being nothing more than a dirt mark. I did purchase this car. The inspection costs $99, it was well worth it. Hope this helps.
