Does MB clearcoat underside of hood?
Do they just put a base coat on or does it get clear coat like the rest of the car.

No there is no clear coat under the hood. I assume that it only a base coat but even at that it is somewhat a semi gloss finish.

That's what I was thinking. I can get red on my polish pad when I clean the underside of the hood.
